What We Do
The Korea Foundation was established to broaden cultural understanding and cooperation between the Korean and Puerto Rican communities, and to create meaningful change in the local society through education and sharing. We connect people to people, bridge generations and cultures, and build a community that grows together.
Cultural Exchange
We connect and share the cultures of Korea and Puerto Rico through local community events and various cultural programs. By hosting Lunar New Year events, cultural exchange programs, and memorial ceremonies, we bridge generations and cultures while expanding understanding and relationships within the community. Educational Resources
We support education and growth opportunities for the next generation. In addition to providing scholarships for university students, we operate a Saturday school and summer camps for Puerto Rican students. Our programs include the following classes: (English, Math and Science, Korean Culture, Taekwondo Program, Summer Camp) : (Add photo of Saturday school)
Community Support
We provide practical help and resources to local residents and families in need. In collaboration with the local community, we are building a warmer and more connected community through material resources and various community activities. Additionally, we continuously conduct sharing activities for the local community, such as providing lunch boxes and meals for airport TSA staff. (Add photos of TSA meal delivery and helping local Puerto Rican residents)
History Memorial Project
We continue our activities to remember the sacrifice and dedication of Puerto Rican soldiers who served in the Korean War and to preserve that history. Through documentary production, memorial ceremonies, and the Old San Juan Monument construction project, we convey the meaning of history and gratitude to the next generation.
